Don’t you want to know what myths are becoming the hurdles in the blogging field? If yes, just continue reading the article. I will enlist some
popular myths that you might be following knowingly and unknowingly.
Let’s take a look below.
Top Blogging Myths You Should Avoid Following
1. Blogging is as simple as a cup of tea
The first myth of blogging is about its being simple and
easy to handle. A lot of people think that activating a blogging account, buying a domain name, sign up for web hosting, and managing content is all that is
required to run a successful blog. This is a completely wrong approach that
people follow and fail in their strategy. Though this approach might work in the short-term, in the long-term it may fail.
What you can do? Try to focus on other parts of blogging also such as SEO, template, web design, SEO-friendly content, mobile-friendly website, ranking, traffic, and visibility of the blog.
2. You have built a blog now ‘WRITE’ only
Another myth of blogging that people believe is that blogging
is only about mere writing, that’s it. Although, blogging is a field of writing
where you work on enhancing your writing skills while providing relevant
content to people, writing well doesn’t mean your blog well. But you do get a bonus
point when you write quality blogs. I just want to say that don’t restrict written content when it comes to blogging.
What else to focus on? Guys, you can tell stories with images, add podcasts, videos, or any other medium which can entertain and engage your audience. In your blog, you can do a lot of other amazing things.
3. Blogging is very competitive
Now, this is the opposite of the first myth I talked about in the beginning.
There are some people who take blogging lightly and some say blogging involves a lot of competition. Both two statements are completely wrong. I know thousands
of people produce content on the same niche you write on. But it doesn’t mean
you step out from the race of completion in the fear of losing.
Guys, blogging is not competitive rather it is an entertaining sector where you entertain people with your writing skills. The more unique, qualitative, and relevant content you write, the higher visibility you get on the search engine results. So, be unique and authentic in your blogging.
4. Blog design doesn’t matter at all
Would you like to visit the site again which appears ugly,
hideous, nasty, unpleasant, and colorless? Not just you, but no one would visit
the site again. And this is the myth that people follow. They think content is
the only factor that is necessary for blogging and forget about the other
aspects of the blog. This is how they don’t generate traffic to the site and see
poor results.
Blog design is the most crucial part of any blog. If the content is the heart & soul of your blog, then blog design is what keeps the reader’s eye on the content. Make sure your blog design is attractive enough to catch the audience's attention in a single view.
5. Every day update on the blog is necessary
The next myth of blogging is about daily updates. Though this myth
used to be true at a certain point in time, now it’s no longer in force. Let me
tell you that Google also favored sites that were updated on a daily basis and
ranked those sites higher in SERPs. And higher ranking sites used to catch the
attention of readers at the same time people would leave the site in a jiffy. This
negatively affected bloggers and they started getting the bounce rate. Since,
Google changed its algorithm now the focus on producing quality content.
So change your perspective from daily updates to create high-quality content. And you no need to do it on a daily basis. Twice or thrice a week is enough for you to maintain the glory of your blog.
6. More traffic means more success
Ok, you all want to get more and more traffic to your site (even me too) and there is no harm in following the end number of practices to get traffic to the site. Nothing is problematic in this. But the problem arises when you think more traffic means more success. This actually has become a myth now. Just get off this myth now and think another way around. You need to focus on the ones that attract and engage your readers. Therefore, try to publish content that is relevant and useful to your audience. If you do so, you will see traffic as well as what you call ‘Success.’
7. Blogging is expensive
Blogging is expensive, do you really think so? If you think so then you are following the myth. I tell you why this myth is prominent in the blogging world. Basically, a lot of bloggers equip tools and add-ons for blogs as an affiliate. Many beginners convinced that they too need these tools to promote their blog and they spend money on the wrong items.
To be honest, blogging is expensive, but it won’t cost you an
arm and a leg. You just need to know where to spend and on what items.
Final track
Finally, we have come to the concluding part of this blog. I hope
you understood all the myths I have mentioned above. Though these are just
limited myths which people tend to follow, many more myths are there which you
can encounter in the blogging arena. Make sure you don’t follow any of these myths otherwise
you won’t be able to run your blog effectively. Share this article amongst your
friends so that they also don’t make a mistake by following these myths.
